Jump straight to the free trips
Regulars to Tenerife may remember the blanket trips . Some think these ‘free’ trips with a hidden agenda are something to be avoided. For others they are a good way of spending a day at someone else’s expense. I’ve done the trip myself 3 times and actually bought the product which is still going strong after 25 years!
Let’s be blunt, almost every free tour has a hidden agenda, even if it’s only to get more bookings. Personally, I will happily do all the free trips and tours, even timeshare (keeping my card firmly in my pocket!). It’s a personal thing.
In case you weren’t aware, a blanket trip in Tenerife is usually a coach ride somewhere that combines looking round a town or city with a visit to some kind of retail outlet. Traditionally the visit would include a stop at a woollen bedding outlet, hence the term ‘blanket trip’. The Pearl Factory is another option.
